I just did a search on this topic. And I am having a similar issue with the initial load time on our site. We just set up a staging environment and the home page has a sample flipbook. Testing this at times, it is a fast load of less than 5 seconds. At other times, it seems to take longer of maybe up to 10 or so seconds. Is this the normal load time?
