Trying to get my friend on glsa.co.za to buy your plugin but it’s very slow loading (it’s on its own dedicated server – not shared) and now my site is loading pdf’s very slowly link http://bikesamag.co.za/bsa/september-2017-full-issue-4-2/7114/ Please advise.

I’ve done a screen video of 30secs, it actually loads after 58 secs then a blank lightbox. When you close the window then reopen it works quickly. I think it is loading to my browser cache fully before showing. When I refresh the browser cache, then problem comes back, but without cleaning browser cache and after it has loaded once, all works. There is something wrong with the PDF structure – it requires to fetch all the document before displaying first page. I am continuing to research the issue.

Updated PDFJS lib – faster loading for PDFs. Seems to be better, update the plugin and clear the browser cache.

I have done this plus deleted website cache, still loads extremely slow. When you say something wrong with PDF structure, do you mean with the PDF I’m using? Its run through Distiller and Fast Web is on. Anything I can do with my PDFs?

As you can see Content-Encoding: gzip – so the browser has to download all PDF before decoding. Disable gzip compression for PDFs.

Stlll not like it was before. Even on your link it’s very slow loading. Tried on different computers and browsers.

Well, the next step is reducing the PDF size.

The pdfs vary in size around 8.7Mb. I have had larger ones (up to 40Mb) and no issues. Made a new clean wordpress site with basic theme, no other plugins and still very slow. This seems (maybe I’m wrong) to have appeared after the updates. Can I roll back to 1.7 and check? If so, where do I download the older versions?
