3D FlipBook - Call TocController or setSearch from a self-made button - is it possible?

I want to provide a floating button (not inside the navbar of FlipBook3D) which enables the user to directly open the search modal. Is it possible to "hijack" or call the appropriate function?

Yes, see the search template: 3d-flip-book/templates/search-book-view.html, 3d-flip-book/css/search-book-view.css, 3d-flip-book/js/search-book-view.js
