thanks a lot for your response, but this did not help me, i am using FlatSome theme, and when creating a button with the visual interface, all i can put here is a an html link, i can't put shorcodes here, and i want a button to directly open the lightbox with the pdf

I am not sure about your visual interface, but if you have CSS button classes you can apply one to the lightbox activation link. yes i can put a class in the button, however i still fail to understand what i must put in the "link" field,

i ended up creating the button with html and css and wrapping the text inside the shortcode, not sure if its the correct way but it works,
